A Brief Introduction
Sponsored by a group of returned overseas Chinese scholars and the successful entrepreneurs, Guangzhou Overseas Chinese Scholars Chamber of Commerce (GZOCSCC) was founded in 2002. Special thanks should be given to Guangzhou Municipal Government and Guangzhou Administrative Center for Overseas Scholars, for their compassionate support and assistance. GZOCSCC is the first non-profit organization in China and has become a family for thousands of returned overseas Chinese scholars in Guangzhou.
The goals of GZOCSCC are to seek the benefits for the members and the mutual recognition for the society. With country’s rapid development, GZOCSCC voluntarily undertakes the responsibility of unifying overseas return scholars. Through this platform, GZOCSCC will actively partake in local development, attend commercial meetings and exchange activities. Synchronously, to co-sponsor large and significant exchanges which are organized by other Non-Governmental organizations, in response to the government’s call to build a more “harmonious Guangzhou”.
GZOCSCC is a platform for information, academic and inter-personal communications, which is willing to assist overseas scholars adapting the local culture, while get acquainted with the environment in China, so as to make full use of his or her knowledge and capability. Five specialized sub-committees have been established to cater for specific requirements of the overseas Chinese scholars’ specialties.
Tenets of GZOCSCC
“Self-conscious, self-discipline, self-accomplishment”, presidents and directors will undertake the obligations and responsibilities. Enterprise members must be self-discipline and should not mingle any commercial relationships with GZOCSCC directly. Under nation’s developing, different industries and circumstances,all members should maintain and develop a spirit which is constantly strive to become stronger.
Functions of GZOCSCC
A bridge platform function: Through cohesion returned overseas Chinese scholars’ circumstances and notions to cooperate with government and native developments. To becoming a dialogue bridge with government and the world.
A solidarity function: Through the 5 specialty committees as a management framework for effective cohesion.
A collaboration function: To promoting unity among enterprises’ resources, achieving mutual interaction among them.
